This wine comes from 40+ year old vines from the exclusive Buena Tierra Vineyard of Sonoma County's famous Russian River Valley. With this 2014 vintage, you will taste crisp, sweet fruits such as apples and ripe apricots along with smoothe, velvety notes of honey.
Our Séamus 2014 Chardonay was fermented and aged in neutral French 3-year old oak barrels. The lees were stirred bi-weekly, intensifying the spiciness and viscosity. There is very little malolactic conversion.
The result of using these techniques is a wine that expresses the opulent fruit characteristics of the Wente clone grape. This is a full-bodied wine that embodies varietal character and flavor.
From the initial aromas of baked pear, spices, and honey, through the smoothe apricot and vanilla bean, this wine will excite the nose and palate. It is youthful, seductive and complete with hints of spiced Fuji apple and hazelnut aromas and flavors.
